My Story

Joshua Prickett

Hello, my name is Joshua Prickett, I am a 1.0 classification player in wheelchair basketball. I have represented my region 4 times, and while captaining the team across the last 2 years; we have finished 1st and 2nd. I was also promoted with my club Aces WBC to the Premier League last year. Alongside this, I have also trained with the GBU23s a couple of times.

Joshua discovered wheelchair basketball after the 2021 Covid lockdown, when he joined the Aces Wheelchair Basketball Club and quickly developed a passion for the sport. Since then, his commitment has grown, with a weekly routine that balances gym sessions, skills development, physiotherapy and competitive play in the BWB National League.

Over the next 12 months, Joshua’s main aim is to train consistently with the GB U23 team and work towards selection for the IWBF U23 World Championships in Rio. Looking ahead, he hopes to represent Great Britain at the Paralympics and pursue his ultimate ambition of winning gold with the national team.

Driven by the desire to improve and make those around him proud, Joshua values the challenge of always striving for the next level, knowing there is always room for growth and success in his sport.
