SportsAid Eastern enjoyed a fantastic afternoon in Norwich as 130 guests, sponsors and supporters gathered to celebrate young sporting talent and hear from one of football’s most recognisable voices at Norwich City Football Club.
We were delighted to recognise Kamila Sklenarova, an exciting young athlete competing in Canoe Marathon and Sprint. Kamila is already achieving strong results nationally and internationally and continues to make impressive progress in her sport. It was wonderful to acknowledge her dedication and achievements in front of such an encouraging audience.

The room was then treated to an entertaining and engaging talk from Mark Lawrenson, Liverpool and Republic of Ireland legend and long-standing BBC pundit. Mark kept the audience captivated with stories from his playing days, his close friendships within the iconic Liverpool squad of the 1980s, and his experiences in broadcasting. His humour, honesty and behind-the-scenes insight made for a brilliant talk that left guests smiling throughout.
The event took place at Norwich City Football Club, adding an extra sense of local pride and sporting heritage to the afternoon. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and full of support for the next generation of athletes coming through the region.
We extend our sincere thanks to all our sponsors, table hosts and guests who joined us and continue to champion SportsAid Eastern’s work. Your generosity helps young athletes like Kamila access the opportunities, coaching and pathways they need to develop and thrive. A special thank you to Helen Tavner and Richard Bloomfield from FRP Advisory for organising and hosting the event so brilliantly onceagain.
Another inspiring event that showcased community spirit, sporting stories and the impact of investing in young talent.
