The para-swimming European Championships 2018 in Dublin I found inspirational as it was then that I realised swimming was a sport athletes with low vision could compete in to a high level. My heroine, even before Dublin 2018, was Dutch swimmer Liesette Bruinsma, who is an S11 athlete, who is a multiple gold medallist and world record holder, which proved to me that a swimmer with very little vision can still reach that level.
